MEET YOUR COACH

Carrie Bacon

Strength Built Through Experience. Coaching Built With Purpose.

For Carrie, strength has never been just about lifting weights. It has been the foundation behind a lifetime of athletics, perseverance, recovery, and helping others discover what they're capable of.

Carrie's passion for fitness began at just 12 years old when she picked up a basketball and set her sights on a big dream: earning a Division I scholarship and eventually playing professionally.

Strength training became one of the tools that helped turn those dreams into reality—and taught her a lesson that continues to shape the way she coaches today:

Consistent effort creates results.

From Wyoming to the Pros

Carrie's dedication to basketball earned her a full-ride scholarship to the University of Wyoming, which she signed as a junior.

While competing for the Cowgirls, she earned her Bachelor's Degree in Exercise and Sport Science and went on to have an outstanding collegiate basketball career. Her accomplishments would later earn her induction into the University of Wyoming Athletics Hall of Fame in 2013.

But her basketball career didn't end there.

Carrie spent seven years playing professionally, competing internationally in countries including Luxembourg, Spain, Finland, Sweden, and Brazil.

She also competed professionally in the United States and won a championship with the Colorado Chill in Fort Collins.

Through years of elite-level competition, Carrie learned firsthand how training must evolve with the athlete—especially through injuries, recovery, changing goals, and different stages of life.

A Life Built around Strength

Strength and conditioning has opened doors Carrie never could have predicted.

From Division I and professional basketball to bodybuilding competitions and even becoming a Swedish Gladiator on television, fitness has taken her around the world and created opportunities far beyond the weight room.

But some of Carrie's most important lessons about strength came through adversity rather than competition.

After undergoing 15 surgeries, including procedures involving her back, shoulder, and knees, Carrie repeatedly experienced the rehabilitation process firsthand.

Those experiences gave her a deeper understanding of adapting training around limitations and rebuilding strength through different seasons of life.

Then came her greatest personal challenge.

From Athlete to Coach

When Carrie retired from professional basketball in 2008, personal training was a natural next chapter.

She already had more than 16 years of personal training experience of her own, an Exercise and Sport Science degree, and a deep understanding of what consistent, individualized training could accomplish.

She turned that experience into a career helping others.

Today, Carrie has spent more than 15 years as a personal trainer, helping thousands of clients develop stronger bodies, healthier habits, greater confidence, and a better understanding of their own capabilities.

Strength Through Adversity

On August 1, 2019, Carrie was diagnosed with Stage 2 breast cancer.

Through six rounds of chemotherapy and a double mastectomy, training became more than exercise. It provided consistency and a sense of normalcy during a time when so much felt outside of her control.

Carrie continued training throughout treatment and later approached her recovery with the same perseverance that had carried her through athletics and previous surgeries.

That experience remains deeply personal to her and has given Carrie a special place in her heart for working with fellow breast cancer fighters and survivors.

Her own journey through injury, recovery, and cancer has shaped a coaching philosophy grounded not only in physical strength—but in resilience.

  • Stronger Than You Think

Carrie believes strength training can change far more than someone's appearance.

It can help us discover what our bodies are capable of.

It can challenge us to persevere when things get difficult.

It can build confidence, support bone density and metabolism, preserve strength as we age, and help us remain active enough to continue doing the things we love.

Most importantly, it can change the relationship we have with our bodies.

Carrie's goal is to help every client build strength they can carry beyond the gym; physically, mentally, and spiritually.

Because becoming stronger isn't just about how much weight you can lift.

It's about discovering how capable you truly are.
